Last Wednesday, we hosted our second forum in the Digital Democracy Series. This time around, the focus was on the importance, impact, and approaches to universal legal identity in Jamaica.
Our panel of experts, Prof. Gunjan Mansingh, Ben Roseth, Laura Bingham, and Kimberley Sherlock Marriott-Blake, explored foundational concepts around legal identity, the importance of universal legal identification and how that impacts access to services in the public and private sectors, and unpacked approaches and challenges related to implementation.
It was a layered discussion with a special focus on the experiences of those in our deaf and hard-of-hearing communities.
In case you missed it or would like to re-watch, the full session replay is now available on our YouTube channel.
